Manifattura Mario Colombo & C. was founded in Monza on February 1923 by Mr. Mario Colombo and his wife who decided to open his own industry after working for a company producer of felt (the area was an important pole for this type of manufacturing products at that period).

During the 30’s Manifattura Mario Colombo & C. had a great  change: the founder decided  to switch  into the production of the work clothes, a coverall made with ultra resistant fibers for workmen.

After the end of the Second World War and with the changes in the Italian economy the ski starts to be part of the weekends of the Italians who started to use that type of clothes to go skiing because of the resistance of the suit. It’s starting from this peculiarity that Manifattura began to produce sport suits with the brand Colmar (which is the acronym of the name and the surname of the founder). The company specializes the production of the ski suits thanks also to the meeting with the great champion Zeno Colo. Colmar made just for him a new technical clothe for skiing much more aerodynamic and with this he won the World Championships in Oslo.

The sons of the founder, Angelo and Giancarlo Colombo, bring on the mission of the father investing in a constant technological and stylistic research and in the sponsorships of the best athletes and teams of  the Ski World Cup. Colmar became the symbol of the word snow all over the world and its claim “in case of..." a catchphrase in the spokespersons mind.

Today the company keeps firmly its origins with its character of family business and its roots on  the territory. Mario Colombo (son of Giancarlo) is now the President and Giulio and Carlo (sons of Angelo) the 2 CEO. Moreover in the last years arrived in the company also the fourth generation to work in.

Colmar is not only winter sport, since in 2010 the company created a new golf collection borrowing the technology from its experience in the ski environment. Moreover it is not only sport, as in 2009 was born a branch more fashion oriented with the “came back" of one of the first model of the past and the re-use of the original logo of the brand, that was abandoned in 1985 due to television needs.

Colmar Originals, this is the name of the brand, represent the fashion and street style soul of the company. It’s a brand dedicated to the city, a style for those who like to create new forms of reality and astonish every day, thanks to their huge power of personality. The collections follow the season of the fashion system and the brand is, since seven years, a protagonist of fashion events with a strong growth of success in the public.
